FAQ
Do I need to bring dish soap, hand soap, dish towels, etc.?
We provide dish soap, hand soap, kitchen towels and dishcloths, paper towels, toilet paper, bedding, and any cleaning supplies you may need during your stay.
We do not provide bath towels, and disposable items such as paper plates, plastic wrap, foil, etc. Some renters leave disposable items behind for the next renter, but we cannot guarantee this will happen.
Are life jackets provided?
No. We provide floatation cushions, but we are not able to keep enough variety of sizes and quantity of life jackets available to fit everyone’s needs. Please bring life jackets for any children in your party. We also recommend them for any adults that are not swimmers.
Do we live on the property?
No. We live about 30 minutes away. If you have any issues during your stay, we will make every attempt to assist asap, but logistics are a factor. If you have any type of personal emergency, please call 911.
Can we extend our checkout time?
Typically we can extend it for an hour with prior communication. But we need at least 3-4 hours to prepare the property for our next guests.
Is there a fish cleaning station?
We don’t have a fish cleaning station set up all of the time, but if that is something you need, please let us know ahead of time. We prefer you don’t clean fish indoors. We also request that you put the fish “scraps” in the freezer until garbage day. If they are disposed of before that, it will attract wild animals and it will leave the garbage cart with an awful smell.
What type of fish are in McDonald Lake?
Perch, Walleye, Bluegill, Pike, Small-mouth and Large-mouth Bass, Sunfish, and some Bullheads.
What do we do with our garbage?
A rolling cart is located behind the cottage. Please put all trash in that. No need to sort items. It is picked up Friday mornings, so please put everything in it by Thursday night. No need to move it. They will drive in to empty it.
